IDENTITY
This piece is part of a series I am calling “Anti-Mold”.
What is Identity? Who am I? Who are you? Why? Often times when we describe ourselves, it usually goes something along the lines of recalling the past and listing preferences, beliefs, accomplishments, or combinations of qualities we deem as the “inner” core of our “self”. Meanwhile, much of our day to day includes a fluid coming and going of innumerable, tiny, even unconscious experiences and interactions with the outside world; to the observer, these are the things that shape us, so to speak. This can all be admitted as parts of who we are and what we do - yet, at the end of the day, who we appear to be on the surface can be easily forgotten, even denied.
